This year, the children of Eurécole and the teaching team have mobilized around this vast project and this question which is becoming more and more important.
Languages: English Spanish German to the rescue of the environment:
In Spanish, with the help of the Spanish WWF association, the children adopted a lynx and became aware of the dangers of global warming which can endanger species.
As for the English team, it brought in an association that works in the Amazon and teaches local populations how to raise bees and make honey, and especially how to fight against the mining companies that are ravaging the country.
During this presentation, the students of the Eurécole College came to join the students of cycle 3 in order to exchange also with the speaker.
The French team, for its part, joined Romain Pillard and his project to compete in the Route du Rhum on a boat whose materials have been reused (sail, mast, hull). To continue, Eurécole is collecting plastic caps and will contact an association to have bottles made of recycled materials so that the children do not use plastic bottles anymore.
The CE2 have a project with the national office of forests
Educational actions for future generations
Thanks to the ONF, the Eurécole students will participate in a cycle of visits on “Environmental Education”. Our students will discover the forest of Ermenonville and the Bois de la Grange accompanied by ONF animators. The days will be punctuated by the search for animal tracks, the recognition of the main trees of the forest, the making of herbariums or the handing over of a range of educational and fun tools to understand the role of the ONF in forest management. These educational days allow us to pass on to the future actors of the environmental transition the knowledge and the taste for the protection of nature.
A vegetable garden at Eurécole: an educational garden
The first graders are setting up a vegetable garden: according to the seasons and months of the year, they will plant radishes, mushrooms, carrots, cucumbers, Borage seeds, Sunflower seeds, basil, beans and other certified organic seeds. Our students get to plant, watch, harvest and taste what they plant. It is also an initiation to eco-responsible agriculture, short circuits, etc. ….
The recycled tree
The kindergarteners (small and medium bilingual section, large section) are not left out since they have created with the help of all the children a tree with cardboard recovered in the school as well as collages with Raphaële our art teacher with the remains of leaves recovered during previous works.
