From October 6 to 10, Eurécole’s middle school students spent an unforgettable week dor their welcome week at Château de Grande Romaine, enjoying a time of friendship, discovery, and team spirit.
This trip gave students the opportunity to get to know each other better, strengthen bonds between classes, and develop the sense of teamwork that will guide them throughout the school year.
The experience perfectly reflects the philosophy of our international middle school in Paris: providing each student with a bilingual, fulfilling, and globally minded learning environment.
Surrounded by nature, students took part in a wide range of activities combining sports, art, and science. Each day brought new challenges and discoveries, filled with laughter, shared moments, and personal growth.
Activities for Every Interest
Throughout the week, students discovered a variety of new pursuits, including:
🏹 archery, 🌲 tree climbing, ⛳ golf, ♟️ chess, 🥏 disc golf (frisbee), 🏉 rugby, 🏛️ a visit to the mineral museum, as well as other sports such as football, basketball, and numerous outdoor team games.
These diverse activities reflect our school’s educational approach: an international environment in Paris that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and the well-rounded development of every student.

A Creative Workshop: Designing and Launching a Vehicle
One of the highlights of the week was a hands-on workshop where students designed, built, and raced their own rubber band–powered vehicles.
Guided by their technology teacher, students worked individually or in small groups to create a functioning model using recycled or repurposed materials: cardboard, straws, cups, paper, and more.
The workshop unfolded in three main stages:
1️⃣ Design: Students began by sketching their ideas and creating a technical drawing of their chosen propulsion system.
2️⃣ Construction: Then came the building phase! Each student assembled, tested, and fine-tuned their prototype — adjusting the wheels, shape, or rubber band tension to improve performance.
3️⃣ Competition: Finally, the vehicles lined up for mini tournaments in different categories such as speed, distance, and creativity. The most inventive and humorous creations were met with cheers and applause.
Beyond the fun, this activity embodies our school’s educational philosophy: learning through experience, fostering creativity, and building cooperation among students from diverse backgrounds.

A Memorable Human Experience
This integration week will remain a special memory for everyone involved.
Students returned with new friendships, renewed confidence, and plenty of energy to start the school year with enthusiasm.
Supported by a caring and dedicated teaching team, they demonstrated curiosity, collaboration, and an admirable team spirit — laying the foundation for a year guided by sharing, growth, and collective success.
