This year, our International Middle School organized a whole week dedicated to science for its students: Science Week. This week allowed them to experience a concrete and engaging immersion in science, economics, technology, and Parisian cultural heritage.
This approach is part of an educational approach based on the school’s Triptych, where culture plays an essential role in learning.
🔬 Immersive experiences in professional laboratories
Throughout the week, students had the exceptional opportunity to work within the technical laboratory school ETSL, benefiting from the expertise of specialized teachers. They were able to:
-> Handle professional equipment in Physics, explore the mechanisms of life in Biology and d iscover societal issues through Technology workshops.
These practical sessions reinforce our commitment to providing a hands-on education based on scientific experimentation and student autonomy.
💶 Exploring the heart of the economy: visit to the Cité de l’Économie
At Citeco (the City of Economics) students were introduced to the fundamentals of economic science.
Understanding economics through play, experimentation, and simulation helps develop students’ critical thinking, social awareness, and ability to analyze the economic mechanisms of everyday life.
🏛️ A cultural experience: museums and Parisian heritage
Since scientific culture also thrives through discovery, our students explored several iconic places:
🧭 Musée des Arts et Métiers
An essential destination for innovation, where they retraced the history of inventions that shaped the modern world.
✨ Musée Étincelle – Palais de la Découverte :
An interactive space dedicated to popular science, where students could experiment, manipulate, and learn through practice.
🔍 Musée de l’Illusion
A playful and fascinating way to explore cognitive science, perception, and optical phenomena.
🗼 Discovering Paris’s great monuments
Students also visited several of the capital’s landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, Trocadéro, Pont de l’Alma and Palais de Tokyo. Gaining insight into their history, architecture, and role in France’s cultural identity.
🎓 An educational approach open to the world
These outings strengthen learning by giving students a concrete context for scientific and economic concepts while nurturing their curiosity and critical thinking skills.
