ENTRY INTO 6TH GRADE

Welcome to middle school

6th grade, which brings cycle 3 (CM1-CM2-6e) to a close, is a pivotal year that requires a different adaptation rhythm depending on the pupil’s profile. The aim of the teaching team is to ensure a smooth transition to the expectations of middle school.

National education programme

FOCUS ON LANGUAGES :

6 hours of English instead of 4 hours in the public sector ( including 45 minutes of Cambridge preparation) 3 hours of LV2 Spanish or German 1H30 Mandarin Chinese LV3 (optional) Up to 2h30 of French as a foreign language (for students in academic transition)

+ school life class and methodology

FOCUS ON THE FUNDAMENTALS :

1 hour of Perf’ Maths (rotations)
1h of Perf’ Français (rotations)
1 hour Voltaire Project (individual online courses)

“School life” guidance class

 

Individual organisation and methodology (managing homework and using the Pronote online homework software, organising your pigeonhole, managing different notebooks, care and quality handwriting). 

Community life issues (understanding between students,managing conflict, joint projects, organisation of outings, proposals for the Student Office committee, etc.) in collaboration with the class reps and sub-reps.

Safety concerns (harassment, use of social networks, nutrition, road safety, etc.) led by various actors of school life and with a specific annual intervention by the Mission de Prévention de la Police of the 17th district.
