German at Eurécole 2025-2026

🇩🇪 A Year of Discovery and Cultural Openness Through German at Eurécole

At Eurécole, a private international school in Paris, German language learning is enriched throughout the year by cultural, artistic, and linguistic projects that allow students to discover the richness of the German-speaking world. From preschool through middle school, students experience the German language through a variety of activities that foster curiosity, creativity, and international awareness.

Among the highlights of the 2025–2026 school year, students from both the primary school and middle school collaborated on the creation of the Brezio podcast, a project that enabled them to practice German in a meaningful context while developing their communication skills, confidence, and creativity.

The traditions of the German-speaking world also played an important role in students’ learning experiences. They celebrated the Lantern Festival (Laternenfest), a cherished tradition in German-speaking countries, as well as German Unity Day, which provided an opportunity to explore German history and culture. The celebration of St. Nicholas Day also introduced students to one of the most beloved traditions of the German-speaking calendar.

🌍 Eurécole’s international outlook was further strengthened through a visit to the Austrian Embassy, giving students valuable insight into Austrian culture and a broader understanding of the diversity of the German-speaking world.

Students also explored the German language and literature through a variety of educational activities. A classroom unit based on The School of Magical Animals (Die Schule der magischen Tiere) introduced them to one of Germany’s most popular children’s book series while expanding their vocabulary and reading comprehension skills.

The performing arts also played an important role throughout the year. A puppet theatre performance offered students an engaging and interactive way to experience the German language in a lively and memorable setting.

The year was further enriched by an art workshop dedicated to the German painter Gabriele Münter. Through the discovery of her work and the creation of artworks inspired by her style, students combined language learning with artistic expression.

Through these diverse experiences, students at our international school in Paris strengthened their German language skills, developed their cultural awareness, and deepened their understanding of the German-speaking world. From preschool through middle school, Eurécole continues its mission of providing a dynamic, rigorous, and internationally minded language education.
