The integration of children into our bilingual preschool is designed to be as smooth as possible. Starting from the “Toute Petite Section” (2-year-old section), we offer small class sizes to ensure individualized attention. To ease the transition, parents can choose a gradual start with half-day attendance or a deferred entry in January for the youngest children.
A Caring and Attentive Environment
Each class is supervised by two adults: a teacher (French or English) and a teaching assistant. The role of the teaching assistant is essential: they welcome children from 8:30 AM and communicate with parents about their child’s mood and well-being. They accompany them throughout the day (lunch, nap, end of the day) and provide daily feedback to families.
Qualified and experienced teachers closely monitor each child’s development, ensuring their well-being, integration into the class, and academic progress. Their mission also includes reassuring and guiding parents by explaining educational goals and daily activities. A back-to-school meeting presents the year’s curriculum, followed by a detailed progress report.
Daily Rituals for Structure
At Eurécole, we understand that rituals are essential to helping children feel secure and develop a sense of time. Nap time, for example, is structured into three 45-minute phases, with a specific routine (calm atmosphere, lullaby, bathroom break, snack). In our bilingual preschool in Paris, these rituals are integrated into language lessons, whether in French, English, Spanish, or German (introduced from 2-year-old Section). Repeated daily, they help children acquire vocabulary naturally and progressively.
An Immersive Bilingual Learning Approach
French and English teachers follow a shared educational plan to ensure harmonious learning in both languages. Concepts are introduced through sound games, graphic activities, nursery rhymes, and artistic projects, creating reassuring learning patterns for children. We also implement a differentiated follow-up for each level. With two distinct progress reports, parents of “Toute Petite Section” (2-year-old Section) and “Petite Section” (3-year-old Section) students receive a clear overview of educational expectations and their child’s development.
A Holistic Approach Including Sports and the Arts
Sports play an essential role in our bilingual preschool. A dedicated teacher conducts sessions three times a week in the gym, adapting activities according to the children’s age and abilities. Artistic awakening is also an integral part of our program. In “Grande Section” (5-year-old Section) students benefit from the intervention of a theater teacher from “Cours Florent” and a visual arts instructor to develop their creativity and self-expression.
A Smooth Progression to “Grande Section” (5-year-old Section)
In “Moyenne” (4-year-old Section) and “Grande Section” (5-year-old Section), students continue their learning with an enriched language program (6 to 9 hours of English per week) and additional German or Spanish lessons, up to 3 hours weekly, depending on whether they are native speakers or beginners. Students also work with Montessori materials, particularly in “Grande Section” (5-year-old Section), with a teacher trained in this method seamlessly incorporating it into their teaching approach.
Strong Parent-School Communication
Our bilingual preschool coordinator, who also teaches in “Grande Section” (5-year-old Section), plays a key role in maintaining communication between the educational team and families. Regular discussions are organized, and we collaborate with pediatricians and specialists if needed (speech therapists, psychomotor therapists).
Events and Outings Throughout the Year
Throughout the year, school trips and performances enrich the children’s experience. Parents are encouraged to participate, fostering a true educational community. After school, a supervised daycare is available until 6:00 PM, managed by teachers and teaching assistants. Students in “Moyenne Section” (4-year-old Section) and “Grande Section” (5-year-old Section) also have access to extracurricular activities such as judo, yoga, and music, as well as an English workshop on Wednesday afternoons, mainly led by our teachers.
